On July 16, 2022, Congo Terminal entered into a partnership with the artisanal company “JULITA GORGEOUS” for the provision of used coffee capsules. These are transformed locally into jewellery, decorative objects and/or home art. Collection bins have been placed on each site, and an awareness campaign has been carried out among employees. The used capsules are collected every weekend to be emptied before being handed over to JULITA, a Congolese artist who has been involved in recycling for several years (paper, wood, various capsules, etc.). These coffee capsules will become beautiful finished pieces dressed in an out-of-this-world aesthetic. Since the signing of the agreement, nearly 500 capsules have been given to JULITA GORGEOUS by Patricia EKEY-MISSE, Regional Communication and Sustainable Development Manager “Our commitment to the Green Terminal approach, Bolloré Ports Label highlights the actions we are deploying for the preservation of the environment. It combines responsible consumption and recycling. Because recycling is the key word for a sustainable earth that we should offer to future generations,” says Patricia EKEY-MISSE, Regional Communication and Sustainable Development Manager. “It is rare to find a partner as responsible as Congo Terminal. He goes to the end of small things such as coffee capsules, used papers. I am proud to work with this company,” says Jacqueline MOTE, Business Manager JULITA GORGEOUS. The coffee grounds collected in the capsules are given to nurseries to be used as fertilizer, as are the tea bags. The company also recycles used paper which is shredded and intended for packaging parcels during shipments. In this same approach, since 2012 Congo Terminal has entered into a partnership with Total Energie for the recycling of used engine and hydraulic oils.
