On August 16, 2022, during a review of their partnership Congo Terminal and the NGO Renatura decided to increase environmental awareness and reduce the carbon footprint for the benefit of the local population. For several years, Congo Terminal has supported Renatura in raising environmental awareness; learning eco-responsible gestures and knowledge of endangered species, particularly sea turtles. These are addressed to students in schools in Pointe-Noire and its surroundings as well as to the families of its employees. The two partners have agreed to extend their awareness-raising actions to the population by broadcasting television messages and documentaries highlighting good business practices in favor of the preservation of biodiversity. “With Renatura we were able to educate more than 270,000 children and around 400 families of our employees. We have agreed to extend this action to local populations. The more people are aware of the dangers that pollution can cause and of actions to remedy them, the more likely we are to preserve our ecosystem. says Anthony SAMZUN, General Manager Congo Terminal. “Educating and raising awareness are the two essential axes to increase the commitment of the populations to preserve biodiversity. Congo Terminal is a long-standing partner at our side for this project» supports Nathalie MIANSEKO, Director Renatura Congo. RENATURA is an NGO whose objective is to promote sustainable development through the conservation of biodiversity, the study and the protection of sea turtles in CONGO.
