This is what we remember from the information meeting of the Bureau of Investigation and Aircraft Accidents (BEA) with the national players in the sector. the Bureau of Investigation and Aviation Accidents (BEA)-Congo organized this Tuesday, March 29 in Brazzaville an information meeting with the national actors of the aviation sector with the aim of ensuring the promotion of safety in the face of the risks associated with air accidents. The objective of this meeting was to sensitize the actors of the civil aviation sub-sector on the existing standards, on the organization of the Bureau of Investigation and Aviation Accidents (BEA)-Congo and on the importance of safety occurrence reporting system to be implemented in the investigation of civil aviation accidents. Congo’s compliance rate in the field of civil aviation accident investigations, which is 29%, is still low compared to the world average of 56%. “The rate is low for several factors, for example we noted the security event reporting system which involves several actors. To conduct an investigation, one must first be informed of the occurrence of a security event., explained Director of Investigations and Aviation Accidents, Jean-Verseau Momboli. According to him, the Congolese government’s priority is to fulfill international obligations, including maintaining zero accidents by 2030 and improving the rate of implementation of international civil aviation standards. The Aviation Accident and Investigation Bureau intervenes in all investigations related to civil aviation accidents and incidents, in accordance with the Civil Aviation Code and the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). ). For the past year, actions have been carried out to strengthen the regulatory framework in terms of civil aviation accidents and incidents, to strengthen the capacities of staff and the organization of the BEA.
