The vida union told the APA that negotiations would continue uninterrupted. The AUA, in turn, said there are no negotiations. But you are always ready to talk, the airline’s final offer is there. Otherwise, as before, both sides remained quite silent.
It remains unclear which offer the AUA originally started this year’s KV negotiations with. Even vida doesn’t want to comment on it. The latest offer from the subsidiary of the German Lufthansa for the 3,500 flight attendants and pilots is 18 percent more salary; the previously variable part of 4 percent is now guaranteed, the airline recently announced. The term is 2 years and 10 months. Specifically, the AUA is offering a salary increase of 8 percent retroactively from March 1, 2024 and a further 5 percent from January 2025 and January 2026 for all flight attendants and pilots.
90 percent once morest offer
Yesterday, in a vote among the members of the vida union, 90 percent spoke out once morest the AUA offer. Voter turnout was 88 percent, and around 60 percent of the on-board staff are members of vida. The employers’ side had previously criticized the vote as being non-transparent and only reflecting a portion of the workforce.
Things are also going slowly in the industry’s spring wage round. The third round of negotiations in the electrical and electronics industry with its 60,000 employees will continue on April 22nd; yesterday the second round in the chemical industry (50,000 employees) ended unsuccessfully. The unions are demanding a wage and salary increase above the 12-month (“rolling”) inflation rate of 6.36 percent.
