Confusion has been recorded in the Kingdom’s courts, once morest the backdrop of the strike that court clerks are continuing, as they are scheduled to strike on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th and 25th of the same month, in all the Kingdom’s courts, judicial centres, sub-directorates and regional preservation centres.
Union sources revealed that the strikes by court clerks have caused chaos in the courts, explaining that the unions’ protest movement has “paralyzed” some of the Kingdom’s court facilities. The Free Justice Union, affiliated with the General Union of Moroccan Workers, had criticized the Ministry of Justice’s “failure” to fulfill its obligations, as well as the dialogue methodology followed and the failure to meet the demands of judicial workers. The union renewed its call for the Ministry of Justice to “commit to the draft amendment to the agreed-upon basic law” and “withdraw the draft from discussion in the government council.”
Members of the Moroccan community complain regarding delays in completing their errands due to strikes in the justice sector
In this context, a large segment of the Moroccan community residing abroad complained regarding the obstacles they face in completing their administrative tasks during their stay in Morocco, especially with regard to documents of a judicial nature.
According to informed sources, a large percentage of the community was unable to complete their personal matters in the Kingdom’s courts this year except with great difficulty, following finding themselves, for the first time, facing successive periods of strikes by employees of the justice sector.
With the short summer vacation, these people fear that they will not be able to complete their remaining matters in the courts, while some of them are pressed for time to return abroad, due to professional or personal circumstances.
A large segment of Moroccans abroad are counting on the months of August and July to complete their administrative tasks and attempt to settle their pending files in Morocco, whether with regard to their economic investments in the national territory or their judicial files related to family issues, for example, in addition to withdrawing some documents from the courts that they need abroad.
Members of the community residing abroad confirm that they are not once morest any category of employees going on strike and demanding their rights, but they hope to take into consideration that the summer season remains a sensitive and annual period for the Moroccan community to visit Morocco and carry out its various purposes and settle its financial, administrative and judicial situations as well.
This comes at a time when court clerks have engaged in sporadic strikes, as they went on strike on the 9th, 10th and 11th of this month, in addition to the strike announced on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th and 25th of the same month, in all the Kingdom’s courts, judicial centres, sub-directorates and regional preservation centres.
