The Ministry of Health of Córdoba confirmed new cases of autochthonous dengue for the 2022-2023 season in the province. These are nine people from the city of Córdoba, with no travel history to other regions of the country or abroad.
Last Monday two cases of dengue were found, which were notified by the provincial health system, when they went to a health center with symptoms compatible with this disease.
As of the notification, control actions were carried out in the area, in which, so far, seven more cases have been detected.
Laura López, director of Epidemiology, reported: “The nine people received outpatient medical care, without the requirement of hospitalization, and are evolving favorably.”
The specialist also explained that control actions reduce the risk of transmission of the disease: “These operations include intra- and per-domiciliary fumigation of the area under study, in addition, recommendations are provided to eliminate potential breeding sites and for environmental management. necessary to reduce the population of mosquitoes that may be infected. The search for febrile patients who may be suffering from the disease, or who previously suffered from it without noticing it, is also added.
The Ministry of Health recalled that, for the blocking actions to be effective and the outbreak to be controlled, it is essential that the neighbors allow the health agents to enter their homes and participate by taking the recommended preventive measures.

So far in the 22/23 season, a total of 16 cases of dengue were reported, of which 11 are autochthonous, all from the Capital; and five have travel history to Bolivia, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Regarding chikungunya, there are eight cases with a history of travel to Paraguay.
