The Ministry of Health of Pakistan has confirmed four cases of the new variant of corona virus JN1 in the country and said that the situation is being closely monitored.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health has said in a statement on Monday that the new variant of Corona is a sub-virus of Omicron.
According to the spokesman, ‘All the affected people had mild symptoms of the new corona variant and all four patients have recovered without any complications.’
Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan said in a statement that the situation is being closely monitored. The statement said that border health services, national and provincial health authorities, labs are fully active and alert to monitor diseases on the instructions of the health minister.
Dr. Nadeem Jan said that ‘international airports have an effective screening system at all entry and exit points.’

He said that the Border Health Services Organization is implementing the recommendations of the International Health Regulations and the Federation and the provinces are fully alert in this regard.
The caretaker health minister said that 90 percent of Pakistan’s population has already been vaccinated. However, to avoid the spread of diseases like covid or flu in winter, take mask, distance and other precautions.
Last week, on the instructions of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), it was decided that two percent of the passengers coming from abroad will be tested for Corona.
According to the Federal Ministry of Health, 200,000 Pfizer vaccines will be provided to Pakistan from the United States to deal with the Corona virus, and Pfizer’s new ‘vaccine is expected to arrive in the first week of February this year.’
After the first case of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) virus in Pakistan in early 2020, by the first quarter of 2022, more than 30,000 people had died while millions were infected.
Vaccines sent by the United States and China to combat the virus and strict government decisions to restrict movement helped contain Covid-19 at the time.
