President Gabriel Boric closed June with an average approval rating of 33%, five points higher than the previous month, according to the Plaza Pública survey conducted by Cadem on Sunday.

The poll also found that the president’s disapproval rating reached an average of 59%, a drop of six points compared to the May balance.

Cadem explained that the rise in approval is mainly among young people, a segment in which his popularity rose 11 points in June, to 44%; and among those who voted for the Head of State in the second round of 2021, a group in which it increased seven points, to 70%.

On the other hand, confidence in Boric grew four points, reaching 39% in June, reaching its best record in 21 months, since September 2022.

Along the same lines, their personal, management and political attributes improved in general. Significant increases stand out in “Has the ability to manage crises” (42%, 10 points more than last month), “Ready to dialogue and generate agreements” (50%, seven points more), and “Solid, consistent, communicates clearly” (42%, six points more).

In contrast, the weakest attributes remain experience in governing (18%) and the ability to manage problems in immigration (23%) and crime (25%).

The main reasons for approving the President, according to those interviewed by Cadem, are the 40-hour project, minimum wage and royalties (37%) and the government program (32%), while the main reasons for disapproval are crime (48%) and lack of experience to govern (39%).

Regarding the results of the fourth week of June, Cadem detailed that 34% approve of Boric’s management, two points less than the previous measurement, and 59% disapprove, two points more than in the previous seven days.
