In the last hours, Prince Harry is in London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London. Kate Middleton has reportedly set a…condition to meet her brother-in-law.
Returning to celebrate 10 years of the Invictus Games, Prince Harry’s celebratory visit will be his first time in the UK since Kate Middleton announced she had been diagnosed with cancer and began a course of preventative chemotherapy.
Since then, Kate, Princess of Wales, has remained out of the public eye as she asked for privacy and time to focus all her efforts on her recovery. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan quickly issued a statement of support for their sister-in-law after the shock news broke, wishing her “health and healing”.
One expert isn’t so sure Kate Middleton will reunite with her brother-in-law at this stage, believing the meeting will only happen on one condition. Ingrid Seward – Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine – explains that in her view, it is “highly unlikely” that William will want to see his brother during this stressful time.
“William has enough things and he doesn’t need the stress. But she can understand Harry wanting to see Kate after her cancer diagnosis, as they were once so close. It remains to be seen if Kate is willing and able to deal with it. Does he have the energy to start trying to heal the rift between the brothers or will he prefer to stay in the background?”
Ingrid added that if the request to meet Prince Harry comes directly from the king, Princess Kate is likely to agree to a reunion with her once close brother-in-law. “If the King asks, he will, but Charles, being the sensitive and understanding soul that he is, would not ask such a favor from his adored bride. The time has to be right and it’s not right now,” he said of Princess Catherine’s term.
Meghan Markle has decided not to accompany Harry on his visit to the UK and will instead reunite with him in Nigeria after his trip. The couple confirmed their plans to travel to the African country shortly after the Duke of Sussex’s appearance in the UK.
Prince Harry will also not be meeting King Charles due to his father’s busy schedule.
