Pope John XXIII social organization condemns the bombing of the cultural center in the city of Kherson, Korabelny district, Ukraine. On the night of July 18, the building used by the local evangelical church to collect and distribute humanitarian aid was bombed. In the attack, all the belongings on the second floor, which was used as a warehouse by the congregation, were burnt. But no one was injured in the attack.

A few days ago, their volunteers had brought many humanitarian aid materials here, and this cultural house that was attacked was an important place for the people left in the city of Kherson, Alberto Capannini, a worker of the Colombo operation of the Pope John XXIII social organization that brings humanitarian aid to the conflict zones, announced in a press release.

Earlier, many people of Kherson city had left this place due to the flood caused by the destruction of Kakhovka Dam during the Russian attack. Drinking water, clothes and food were stored for the people who stayed in the city in Kherasam’s cultural center. Advocates of the John XXIII community alleged that the Russian forces were well aware of this center, which was run by the local evangelical church on the other side of the Dnipo River, which was designated as a border area, and that by attacking this place, which was used for prayer, food and water distribution, they attacked a service center that provided humanitarian aid to the public.

On Wednesday, July 19, the John XXIII Society of Social Services issued a press release condemning the attack on this warehouse in the city of Kherson.
