Condemn political violence! – – 2024-07-19 07:28:56

Patriots for Europe

The European Parliament has rejected a motion for a resolution by the Patriots, with which the new group wanted to condemn political violence. “We wanted a debate in the plenary, including on the assassination attempt on the former US President Donald Trump,” explained Kinga Gál.

The deputy leader of the Patriots group and head of the Fidesz delegation accused the European Parliament (EP) of “doing practically nothing once morest the political violence that has long been spreading in Europe.”

Antifa plays schoolmaster

She recalled the assassination attempt on Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico and the Antifa manhunt in Budapest in February 2023. “Although the Italian Antifa ‘activist’ Ilaria Salis came very close to killing an innocent man, she is sitting in the EP today unimpressed by the ongoing trial and, what’s more, wants to tell us how we should behave.” The motion for a resolution once morest political violence received only 119 votes and was rejected by a majority of 339 votes. Among the 15 abstentions were the votes of Péter Magyar’s Hungarian Tisza party.

EPP covers up a “radical communist”

Gál also spoke regarding the incorrect vote on the positions of EP Vice Presidents the day before, which showed a complete lack of respect for around 18 million voters and for basic norms of democracy and the rule of law. The fact that a “radical communist” was elected with the help of the EPP was unprecedented – the patriots were considering legal action once morest it. At the same time, the Fidesz European politician rejected the practice of the European left of “dismissing all political rivals as right-wing extremists”.
