At around 9 a.m. this morning (8th), the police received a report from a KMB driver, saying that when the 30X bus involved was driving to the opposite side of Xinxing Building, No. 603 Nathan Road, concrete fell and pierced the bus. The police pointed out that personnel from the Buildings Department had arrived at the scene to follow up, and the case was handed over to the Mong Kok Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. According to pictures on the Internet, the giant hole pierced by concrete is regarding 30 centimeters in diameter, and the debris is scattered all over the place.

The Xinxing Building where the incident occurred was on July 29, and similar incidents have already occurred. At regarding 8 a.m. that day, regarding 50 centimeters by 30 centimeters of concrete peeled off from the canopy of the building and fell onto the pavement. No one was injured.

The Urban Renewal Authority responded to media inquiries on July 31, saying that Xinxing Building was one of the first batch of cases handled by the “Building Renewal Action 2.0”. It was once affected by the epidemic and might not carry out the repair works according to the required schedule.
