More than 40,000 spectators occupied the Kallimarmaro to commemorate the 57 victims of the unspeakable railway tragedy, with the assistance of great artists as well as the relatives of the victims,
Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Sokratis Malamas, Tania Tsanaklidou, Phoivos Delivorias and the “Common Mortals” went on stage to honor the memory of the victims of Tempe with their presence.
“We do not forget, we will never forget. We are all now one, we feel the same, we understand the same, we desire the same. We have the same goal, the same wish, the same desire. And how could it be different? Because that which killed our own children, our own people, remains free to kill again and again. So, never again!”, said Maria Karystianou, mother of the deceased Marthi, when she got on stage.
“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and up to the heavens for being by our side. We especially thank the artists and those who worked with a lot of hard work, a lot of volunteer work and passion for this unique memorial event today, dedicated to our dearly loved ones, who we miss so much,” added the unfortunate mother about the concert in Kallimarmaro.
