It was a very special midnight concert: “Peaches” presented an incredible show with a lot of bare skin in the arcade courtyard of the Vienna City Hall.
I was super excited: “Peaches” were supposed to perform that evening or night as part of the Impulstanz Festival in the arcade courtyard of the Vienna City Hall and I had no idea what it would be like.
In any case, I and my companion were there early enough and as soon as I entered the location it was incredibly impressive how beautifully lit the entire arcade courtyard was. After a small circle to take a quick look at everything and get a drink, we looked for a place at the front of the stage. In fact, it wasn’t that easy anymore because there was already so much going on. At some point the program started with an introduction by Dirk Stermann – and none other than the mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, climbed onto the stage following him and said a few words to the audience.
and then the musical program started: “lou asril“Performed regarding three songs in an extravagant outfit and with really bad movements and then disappeared once more. because then it was time for the main attraction of the evening, then it was time for “peaches“! and to be honest, I almost can’t put what I saw into words because this performance was so awesome that I almost mightn’t believe my eyes.
At the beginning she came on stage in a costume that had several breasts and began dancing so wildly, first alone and then together with her dancers, that I was almost a little overwhelmed by the situation. The whole performance was of course very focused on nudity and imitating sexual acts and I was therefore speechless the whole time. I was warned, but I still didn’t expect such a performance.
Sometimes she had real clothes on, sometimes even with a political message (e.g. “Thank God for abortion”), but then she took everything off once more and was almost completely naked. However, their dancers were even more blatant, some of whom were completely naked and performed movements that I had never seen in public before. In keeping with the Impulstanz Festival, there was a lot of dancing, but also champagne was poured into the crowd and a bath was taken in the crowd – while the performance continued. What “Peaches” presented for over an hour was just crazy. The atmosphere was just as explosive as this performance, the audience felt like they were freaking out all the time!
At some point this incredible performance was over and everyone was able to breathe a sigh of relief. It was sheer madness how much tension there was in the air during the concert. And probably because of this tension it wasn’t that important what the music and singing actually was. The focus was more on everything around it and you can’t blame anyone for that. Finally, I would say: “Peaches” was an experience and I’m glad I experienced it!
