ARLINGTON – The followingmath of a hard slide on Wednesday appears to raise growing concerns around Yankees hitter Aaron Judge, who underwent an MRI on his right hip Friday following get pulled in the fourth inning from last night’s game. The results are not yet known.
Judge was left out of the Yankees’ Friday lineup, just as manager Aaron Boone predicted Thursday. However, the need for further testing increases the possibility that the situation is more serious than initially thought.
Judge didn’t even leave Wednesday’s game immediately following the slide at third, but now the Yankees are wondering how long they’ll be without their hitter.
“He is perhaps the best player in the game and it’s no secret what he means to us,” Boone said. “Hopefully we won’t lose him for too long.”
Judge has played in 305 games over the past two seasons, and had started the Yankees’ first 26 games of 2023 before Friday’s game.
