As of 9pm last night, there were 41,930 new corona19 confirmed by local governments across the country.

With a decrease of 14,000 from a week ago, the Sunday interim count fell to 40,000 for the first time in four weeks since the 31st of last month.

The re-infestation that started in July is on the decline, but the problem is that the number of severe cases, especially among the elderly, is not decreasing.

In particular, there were 581 cases of severe serious illness yesterday, the highest number in 124 days since April 26.

Since critically ill patients occur with a time lag of 2-3 weeks following being confirmed, the government has stepped up to strengthen bedside management, expecting the number of critically ill patients to increase for the time being.

The financial adequacy assessment for critically ill patients, which was conducted four times a week, will be conducted every day from today, and the period for discharge will be reduced from two days to one day.

“With these measures, we expect that the length of stay for patients who do not meet the admission criteria will be reduced by up to two days.”

In addition, during the Chuseok holiday period, more than 3,000 ‘one-stop medical institutions’ will be operated to enable prompt examination and prescription, and more than 2,000 quarantine support personnel will be dispatched to highway rest areas.

However, the entry quarantine has taken the lead toward easing.

If you enter Korea from abroad, you will have to go through two tests, one before and one following entering the country.

The government plans to make a final decision on the abolition of the pre-entry inspection following consultations with related ministries this week.
