Asuncion, IP Agency.- The National Gambling Commission (Conajzar), which is part of the General Management of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), recorded an accumulated income of G. 112,502 million between January and August of this year, according to the official report.
The amount received between January and August 2024, compared to the same period last year, showed an increase of 10.1%, since in the eight months of 2023 the Commission received some G. 102,159 million in royalties for the exploitation of games of chance nationwide.
The resources entered into the coffers of the National Gambling Commission are destined for public health, school education and social welfare, in compliance with Law 1016/1997 “Which establishes the Legal Regime for the Exploitation of Games of Chance or Luck.”
Conajzar is responsible for the planning, control and supervision of games of chance, the activities of individuals or legal entities dedicated to their exploitation, as well as the interjurisdictional relations arising from the activity.
