2023-06-02 09:33:31

Last February, we learned that after three years of absence, G.SKill was going to organize a new edition of its competition ofoverclocking : “the GSKill OC World Cup 2023”. The first part of this competition was organized on Hwbot to determine the 9 best overclockeurs qualified to go to Computex 2023. So yesterday and the day before yesterday that the qualification phase took place and then the final.

The 9 overclockeurs who participated in this qualifying phase were Rauf, Seby9123, CENS, snakeeyes, biso biso, Luumi, Micka, sergmann and ZeR0_Dan. They competed on six benchmarks: DDR5 Memory Frequency, Geekbench6 – Multi Core, HWBOT x265 Benchmark – 1080p, 3DMark11 Physics, y-cruncher – Pi-2.5b and SuperPi – 32M. In this little game, the three best and therefore qualified for the final were the Swedish Rauf, the American Seby9123 and the German CENS.

In the final, it was the American Seby9123, only 20 years old, who took first place despite being the only “amateur” in the competition. Congratulations to him! As a reminder, GSKill had a cashprize of $40,000 US with an envelope of $10,000 for the first, $6,500 for the second and finally $5,000 for the third. The other qualifiers also receiving part of the cashprize.

It’s great to see these overclocking competitions picking up again after the pandemic. Hopefully this will give ideas to other brands who also organized competitions a few years ago. All the photos of this competition can be found on GSKill website.
