Starting tomorrow, everyone entering Korea from China must undergo a COVID-19 PCR test following entering the country.
This is a measure in accordance with additional quarantine measures related to the Chinese epidemic announced by the government. Foreigners staying for a short period of time must undergo a PCR test immediately upon arrival, and Koreans and foreigners staying for a long time must conduct the test at the public health center in their residence within one day.
When boarding an aircraft, it is mandatory to register a domestic address and contact information in the quarantine information pre-registration system and Q code.
In addition, from tomorrow, the issuance of short-term visas will be restricted, making it impossible for Chinese to visit for travel purposes.
The mandatory submission of test results prior to entry will take effect on the 5th, considering local preparations in China.
The quarantine authorities explained that these measures were aimed at preventing the inflow of confirmed patients into the country as the Chinese government eased quarantine measures amid the spread of Corona 19 in China.
In preparation for the possibility of a new mutation appearing due to the rapid increase in confirmed cases in China, the quarantine authorities are conducting a genome sequencing analysis of cases that were confirmed following entering from China.
