Comprehensive medical care is provided to vulnerable communities in Alto Paraná

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Health highlighted that through outpatient care, health professionals from the Tenth Health Region offered comprehensive assistance to children and adults of the Kirito indigenous community, in the district of Mbaracayú. Comprehensive care was also provided in Ytakyry, Alto Paraná.

First, health professionals from the Tenth Health Region, Alto Paraná, provided outpatient care in the district of Mbaracayú, benefiting children, adolescents and adults from the Kirito indigenous community.

This activity is essential for communities located in areas far from health posts and was supported by the Health Units of the region.

During the day, they provided medical consultations, sample collection for studies, family planning counseling, placement of subdermal contraceptive implants in women; tests for the Human Papillomavirus, sample collection for PAP smears, and updated the regular schedule for children and adolescents, among other services.

Representatives of the Expanded Immunization Program (EPI) also offered regular vaccinations to protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Comprehensive attention to Itakyry promoted by the governor of Alto Paraná

On the other hand, in order to strengthen quality care for vulnerable localities, the mobile diagnostic unit provided comprehensive care to children and adults in the Ytakyry district, at the Santa Lucía school, within the framework of the Government Day promoted by the Governorate of Alto Paraná.

It was in cooperation with officials from the Health Center, members of Primary Health Care, regional staff of the Tenth Health Region of Alto Paraná and dentists from various districts who accompanied the extramural care.

During the day, 102 medical consultations were carried out with the distribution of medicines; height and weight were checked. In addition, dental care was provided to 60 people, including children and adults; 25 people were treated in ophthalmology; 43 in the medical clinic and 25 in pediatrics; and 10 women in gynecology and obstetrics, with the collection of a Pap smear and a Human Papillomavirus test.

Members of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) administered 96 vaccines from the regular schedule to children, youth and adults.
