Health.- This Thursday, within the framework of National Journalist’s Day, the Faculty of Medicine, the Zulia Sectional National College of Journalists (CNP Zulia), the Interior and the Red Cross, treated more than 250 people, including journalists and relatives, who received comprehensive medical care. in various specialties, as reported by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Sergio Osorio.
“We are very pleased to carry out this medical event for our journalist friends and their families. Care was available in Cardiology, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dentistry, hypertension screening, diabetes, HIV, syphilis, hematology, glycemia; In addition, we delivered medicines completely free of charge to the patients who participated in this event that benefited more than 250 people”, reported Osorio.
He thanked the Zulia Red Cross for the contribution of medicines and the Zulia State Government for the support provided for the development of the activity. For her part, the CNP Zulia Finance Secretary, Joanna Barboza, representing the branch’s Board of Directors, thanked the Faculty of Medicine for the support offered in organizing this event dedicated to journalists and their families.
“The Zulian journalistic union is grateful to the University of Zulia and this enormous effort in bringing together the institutions that provided us with this wonderful medical care for our members and their families,” he said.
Medical Congress
Doctor Felipe Díaz Araujo, president of the International Scientific Congress of the Faculty of Medicine “Dr. Jesús Weir Medina”, and the XXI Multidisciplinary Scientific Congress of the Zulia Academy of Medicine “Dra. Nelly Petit de Molero”, reported that this will take place from July 10 to 14 at the Hotel Tibisay del Lago facilities with the participation of major national and international speakers in various specialties.
“The primary purpose of these congresses is the generation and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge to promote the development of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching linked to research and extension, and to generate innovative opportunities and conditions for the comprehensive training of students. and the development of the teaching and research staff of the University and the Academy”, he indicated.
He noted that symposiums, round tables, workshops, among others, will be held in order to respond to criteria of quality, efficiency, academic excellence, institutional responsibility and productivity, to anticipate and satisfy the demands of the environment.
