The Audit Board of the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG) led a day of comprehensive and pediatric medical care for the inhabitants of the communities surrounding the Castillos de Guayana.
They also did maintenance on the site, which is located in the Juan Bautista Arismendi parish in the Casacoima municipality.
The Delta Amacuro State Government, the Casacoima Mayor’s Office and the Ministry of Health participated in the activity that benefited the population, which amounts to 272 families, for a total of 788 inhabitants of said settlement.
The event was attended by members of 11 community councils and, in addition, residents of El Amparo and El Supamo, who received medical care in the specialties of internal medicine, as well as general medicine, pediatrics, traumatology and gynecology.
Officials from the local Civil Registry attended for the presentation of children, issuance of proof of life and residence card, among others.
The Councils for the Protection and Rights of Children and Adolescents were activated to issue a protection measure for the minor’s civil registry.
Laboratory and immunization
Regarding laboratories, screening for malaria, dengue, covid-19, measles, rubella and mumps (SRP) was carried out.
In the same order, there was immunization with the placement of diphtheria toxoid, pentavalent, polio, hepatitis, yellow fever and SRP.
Pediatric care reached a total of 140 children and adolescents, who received the consultation and, in turn, the prescribed medicines, thanks to the pharmacy area that was set up for this medical day, through the link established with the Hospital Clínico de los Trabajadores de Guayana “José Gregorio Hernández”, belonging to the CVG.
Cleaning and weeding operation
In order to improve the conditions of the community, they carried out cleaning work and promoting the adaptation of the historical spaces of the San Francisco de Asís fortresses, founded in 1642, and San Diego de Alcalá, founded in 1746.
The children enjoyed a day full of surprises, as a group of reenactors and face painters were in charge of their entertainment, in an activity full of joy in this month of children, where 400 party favors were delivered to the infants of the community of Los Castillos de Guayana.
Paint, switches, electrical outlets, lights, as well as brooms, rakes, shovels, bags and other items were also delivered to the community leaders, who collaborate with the maintenance of the forts.
