Comprehensive List of Municipal Fines for Restaurants, Shops, Contractors, and Workers in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has announced a comprehensive list of municipal fines related to restaurants, shops, contractors, workers and individuals. According to the new law, fines from 400 Riyals to 2,000 Riyals (regarding Rs. 44,100) will be imposed on workers who pick their noses, spit, touch their mouths or do not maintain personal hygiene while working in restaurants and other food establishments.

The municipal ministry said the fines are aimed at ensuring that workers engaged in such work related to public health have valid health certificates and to ensure cleanliness in public places such as shops and roads.

Sanitation in restaurants and other similar establishments
Employees caught picking their noses, spitting, touching their mouths or not maintaining personal hygiene will be fined between 400 and 2,000 Riyals. Fines of between 400 and 2,000 Riyals will be imposed even if they work while suffering from illness, wounds or blisters such as burns. Fines of between 200 and 2,000 Riyals will be imposed if the worker works without a health certificate or with an expired health certificate. License and Business Regulations

A fine of 10,000 to 50,000 riyals can be levied if a business is carried out without obtaining a municipal license. Fines of 400 to 5,000 riyals are imposed for business activities outside of what is stipulated in the license.Violations of construction contractors in public places
