The new labor law approved by the Sultan of Oman provides many benefits to the employer. The new labor law also allows temporary posting of workers to other establishments. Employers in Oman may allow workers to work temporarily under another employer. This requires permission from the Ministry of Labour.

The organization has the authority to dismiss the employee if he is unable to meet the required performance standards. But the worker should be told in which area he is deficient and given six months time to solve it. The number of sick leaves has been increased in the new law. Special leaves without pay shall be granted if requested by the employee. If it is difficult to work in night shift then shift to day shift. As part of repatriation, expatriate workers can be dismissed if there are qualified Omani nationals in the same positions.
