Comprehensive Criminal Law Reform Bill Introduced in Lok Sabha: New Delhi

New Delhi: An important bill to make a comprehensive change in the criminal law in the Lok Sabha. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has introduced a bill to amend the IPC, CrPC and Enforcement Act in the House.

With the amendment of the law, the IPC will become the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita. The CrPC will become the Indian Civil Code and the Evidence Act will become the Indian Evidence Act.

Amit Shah said the 19th-century laws steeped in India’s colonial history would be replaced. Punishment, not justice, is at the heart of British law. Amit Shah also said that there is a need for timely change.

The new law will focus on preventing crimes once morest women and children. The bill also proposes to waive the charge of sedition.

Meanwhile, opposition members and ruling party members clashed today over the suspension of Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary. The Lok Sabha was adjourned twice. In the followingnoon, the opposition alliance boycotted the India House.

The leaders of “India” said that the BJP’s move is to destroy democracy. The annual session of the Parliament, which lasted for three weeks, will end today.
