Vienna (OTS) – After long and intensive talks, this year’s KV negotiations in the glass industry were successfully concluded. On June 6, 2023, the GPA and PRO-GE unions reached an agreement that will lead to a noticeable increase in real wages for the 6,500 employees in the industry. ++++
Collectively agreed minimum wages and salaries will be increased by 10.1%, while actual wages and salaries will increase by 9.9%. These increases mean a noticeable gain in purchasing power for employees in the glass industry. The starting point for the wage and salary negotiations was the rolling inflation rate of 9.67% recognized by both sides of the negotiation.
Apprentice incomes will also be increased by 10.1% per apprenticeship year in order to further increase the attractiveness of training in the industry. In addition, collective bargaining allowances will be increased by 10.1% and internal allowances by 9.9%. Furthermore, the expense allowances increase by 9.67%.
The successful negotiations in the glass industry mark the conclusion of the traditional spring pay round. This result not only improves the employees’ financial situation, but also sends a positive signal for the entire industry.
The new collective agreement comes into force on June 1, 2023 and has a term of 12 months.
