Completely exhausted: German schoolchildren rescued by helicopter while crossing the Alps

Because of half a meter of snow, they had to carry their bikes and ultimately had to abandon the tour. The exhausted group made an emergency call and was rescued by a police helicopter.

Jesolo as a destination

They were dropped off at the so-called Sulzenalm, picked up by the Mayrhofen mountain rescue team and escorted safely into the valley, police announced on Friday. No one was injured. The 18 people had wanted to travel from Zell am Ziller on Thursday via the Zillergrund and the Heilig Geistjöchl to Prettau in South Tyrol. The crossing of the Alps had been planned as part of a project in Furth, Bavaria. The final destination was to be Jesolo.
