Complaints increase over poor service at the Atlanta consulate

Despite the fact that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in several press releases had assured that there would be no problems in the attention of Colombians in the consulate of Atlanta, United States, due to the absence of the leading consul Bertha Patricia Alemán. Today several complaints arrive at W Radio that assure that there is a precarious attention and the attention times both in the calls and in the mails are unsatisfactory.

Given the situation, W Radio learned that the new career consul Idoia Astrid Valladares has not yet arrived at her workplace, so currently this consulate only has five officials who show their faces. One of them is the assistant in charge of consular functions and four other people who attend the more than 60 assigned appointments added to the procedures that must be attended without an appointment.

Likewise, we found out that more than 150 people are served daily and regarding 140 emails are answered daily. In the same way, they confirm that they do not have surveillance or a cleaning service in the office that serves hundreds of Colombians.

For now there is no solution to the lack of attention in this consulate that serve Colombians from seven states, since the new consul has not yet taken office in which she was appointed since last November 29, 2021 and the consul who was there, that is, Bertha Patricia Alemán continues with her days of disability until next February 12.
