A complaint was filed by the parents of a five-month-old baby who was hospitalized at Epicura Hospital in Hornu on October 23 for bronchiolitis. The child was transferred at the parents’ request to Jolimont hospital where tests showed that he was suffering from meningitis. According to local media, the child is still in worrying condition.

The Mons public prosecutor’s office indicated on Friday that the case was put under investigation following a complaint from the parents for involuntary assault and failure to assist a person in danger.
Contacted by Belga, Epicura authorities indicated that they would not provide any comments to the press on the medical files.
