In a note published this Thursday, March 16, 2023, the defense team of Mr. Charles Blé Goudé announces that on January 15, 2021, a complaint with civil action was filed once morest Franklin Nyamsy and Mrs. Arlette Zaté for “ slanderous denunciation and public defamation”.

According to Mr. Blé Goudé’s lawyers, this “action thus gives the defendants the opportunity to bring before the courts the material evidence that attests to the accusations that they repeatedly bring once morest (their client) in their public statements “.

Mr. Franklin Nyamsy, of Cameroonian origin, is a renowned activist on social networks. He is very close to the former Ivorian Prime Minister, Guillaume Soro. In his publications, he criticizes the posture of Charles Blé Goudé, maintaining that the former leader of the Young Patriots is today close to Alassane Ouattara.

“The defense team of Mr. Charles Blé Goudé would like to point out and recall that colleagues brilliantly and worthily represented the team internationally, and obtained the acquittal of our client following a long trial. , both at first instance and on appeal to the International Criminal Court,” the note states.

Consequently, the lawyers of Mr. Charles Blé Goudé, both in Côte d’Ivoire and in Europe, cannot tolerate any attack on his reputation, his honor and his image thus restored with great struggle, continues the text.

For Charles Blé Goudé’s Counsel, in his capacity as a politician, their client’s political ideas and actions may be the subject of criticism, however, the defense “will not spare any legal proceedings at the once morest any person who makes statements detrimental to his person and engages in any other act (threats of all kinds, blackmail), falling under the law”.

After six years of trial, MM. Blé Goudé and former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo were acquitted at first instance by the ICC on January 15, 2019. The final acquittal of the co-defendants will be pronounced on March 31, 2021.

The former leader of the Young Patriots, Charles Blé Goudé, returned to Côte d’Ivoire on November 26, 2022 following more than eight years of absence from the country. He has unveiled his ambition to one day lead the Ivory Coast and is very careful regarding his image.
