The worker lost his right arm following getting stuck in a machine in the restaurant. In the petition filed in the civil court, he demanded a compensation of two lakh dirhams as compensation for the accident in which he lost his hand and the pain he suffered.

It was alleged that the employer did not take the necessary safety precautions in the workplace and this caused his hand to get stuck in the machine and thus amputate his hand. The court ordered the employer to pay Dh100,000 as compensation for the loss of the complainant’s hand and Dh10,000 as court costs.
