Comparison of fuel prices in Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Germany as of January 10

With the end of rebates at the pump from the French government and stations of the TotalÉnergies group, the prices of SP95, SP98 and diesel have soared in France. We take stock.

The difference can hardly go unnoticed. While it was in France that we found the cheapest fuel in the entire Greater Region less than two months ago, now diesel, SP95 and SP98 have a higher price per liter than in the three other countries.

The end of the discount of ten euro cents per liter put in place by the French government until December 31, added, in the stations of the TotalÉnergies group, to an additional discount of ten centimes has hurt French consumers… but not Luxembourg service stations, which are seeing them come back in mass.

It must be said thatin the Grand Duchy, on the contrary, prices have fallen significantly since last month, the country even currently boasting the lowest prices in the Greater Region, like a liter of SP 95 set at less than 1.50 euros! A godsend when, at the same time, fuels are also still expensive in Belgium and Germany.

As a reminder, the prices displayed for France and Germany are an average calculated from the prices recorded in four to five border stations for each country.
