Stick vacuum cleaners, the G10 and T10 both integrate the motor unit at wrist level and seem to come from the same mould. It would not be surprising if this were the case given the proximity between the two brands: Dreame joined the Xiaomi ecosystem in 2017, and is therefore most likely hiding behind the Xiaomi model. The latter is nevertheless easily recognized by the orange touches that enhance his white dress. For its part, Dreame offers a much more classic marriage of white and gray.
The quality of manufacture is on the other hand at the rendezvous in both cases. Despite the majority use of plastic, all the elements are well finished and we encountered no problem with the fixing clips that hold the tubes and brushes to the engine block. Both devices are also very light and handle with ease to vacuum from floor to ceiling.
With a mop to attach to the back of its main suction head, the Xiaomi G10 can also remove lightly encrusted stains on the ground, but it would have had to do much better for it to be a real asset once morest the T10. More interestingly, this head is able to detect carpets to allow the broom to automatically increase the suction power when it passes over them. A long nozzle, a flat brush, a motorized mini-brush and a wall charging station are also provided. The same accessories are found with the T10, which also comes with a flexible hose.
The biggest asset of Xiaomi’s vacuum cleaner lies rather in its screen. On the back of the engine block, it gives a more precise estimate of the remaining autonomy than the trio of diodes of the T10. This screen also displays the suction power used among the three available, and should also facilitate the identification of possible failures – however, our tests were not very conclusive on this point. The Dreame model also offers three powers to be selected using a push button, and both models offer the possibility of switching from fractional to continuous suction if necessary.
