After having had quite a game once morest the Golden Knights in Vegas, the Canadian took the plane towards Arizona since the Coyotes will be on the menu tomorrow night.
The meeting will once once more be presented at 10 p.m., which will certainly please Flannel supporters… #Sarcasm
It’s going to be late, but we can console ourselves by saying that it will be a good opportunity to spy on Logan Cooley, who is off to a good start in his debut in the National League.
The American has six points in eight games, but beyond his offensive production, he looks like a guy who is ready to dominate the National League.
It’s boring, but we can’t say the same thing regarding Juraj Slafkovsky, who was selected two ranks ahead of the American in the 2022 draft…
The difference between the two players seems to be huge at the moment. The Coyotes were patient with Cooley, letting him play a season in the NCAA before making the jump to the pros and that seems to be helping him since the start of the season. For what?
Because he arrived in the NHL full of confidence following collecting 60 points (22 goals) in 39 games last year with the University of Minnesota.
It’s way too early to play the comparison game and anyway, it’s difficult to compare the two players because they really don’t have the same style of play.
But the observation remains the same in the end: the third overall pick in the 2022 draft is clearly ahead of the one who was chosen first overall in the same draft.
This is why we often talk regarding sending Slafkovsky to Laval so that he can progress:
In the end, the organization must make a decision to help it →

Szymon Szemberg wrote on Twitter earlier today that Slaf should be sent back to Europe to promote his progression because the NHL is not a development league.
He’s right, by the way.
If we push the note a little further… We realize that the Kraken had the same approach as that of the Coyotes with Shane Wright.
We didn’t want to rush things in his case, so he was sent back to junior during the last season.
Wright currently plays for the Kraken’s farm club and he has done well since the start of the season (four points in five games) because he has been made to understand that he must take the time he needs before becoming a impact player in the big league.
Listen. Juraj Slafkovsky is not a flop and there is NO ONE who said that either. It’s much, much too early to be thinking regarding things like this.
But, when we compare the strategy of the Coyotes and the Kraken versus that of the Canadian in terms of development… We see that there is a fairly notable difference.
Anyways.
In closing, it is interesting to note that Logan Cooley came very close to becoming a member of the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Flyers met with him just before the start of the draft and tried to move up a few ranks to get their hands on the American, but it ultimately fell through.
We agree that this takes nothing away from the talent of the young man, who is on track to collect around 60 points if he keeps the same pace as at the moment:
