Not all banks have the same pricing policy when it comes to instant transfers. “Initially, offering instant payments was an additional service. For some banks, this is still the case today“, explains Charline Gorez. “For others, instant transfers have become the norm, are part of their offering and are therefore free“, she continues.
It is therefore clear that over the years, instant transfers are billed less and less as such by Belgian banks. For transfers via the banking application or via homebanking, the cost of these transfers is often included in the account management price. This is the case, for example, at Argenta, KBC/CBC, CPH, Crelan, Europabank, ING or AXA Banque.
Other banks continue to charge, for example up to €1.25 at Belfius, except for certain accounts where they are totally or partially free. At BNP, any instant transfer currently costs €0.60. The bank has, however, decided to apply free access from January 2024, as Le Soir learned.
