(AOF) – The consolidated turnover of Compagnie des Alpes for the 2022/23 financial year amounts to 1.125 billion euros, thus exceeding the one billion euro mark for the first time in its history. The specialist in mountain resorts and leisure parks recorded growth of 17.4% on an actual basis compared to the 2021/22 financial year. On a comparable basis, that is to say excluding the acquisition of the company MMV consolidated since the beginning of the financial year, growth stands at 9.9% compared to the previous financial year.
The group underlines that over the entire 2022/23 financial year, the turnover of ski areas and outdoor activities amounts to 489.2 million euros, which represents an increase of 7.2% per year. compared to the 2021/22 financial year. The turnover of Ski Lifts (95% of the total turnover of this division) reached 465.9 million euros, an increase of 7.8%.
Given the excellent level of activity during the second part of the 4th quarter, particularly the “record” month of September, and despite the “electric shock” caused by an unprecedented increase in the price of electricity, the The group now believes it can exceed “very slightly” the objective it had set for this financial year, i.e. an EBO (gross operating surplus) close to that of 2021/22 excluding the integration of MMV and excluding non-recurring items.

Global tourism still on the rise
Over the first nine months of 2022, 700 million tourists traveled internationally, more than double (+133%) the figure recorded for the same period in 2021. This figure reached 63% of 2019 levels , which should allow the sector to reach 65% of its pre-pandemic levels in 2022. This result is due to a high level of demand and the gradual lifting of restrictions in a large number of countries. Europe is significantly supporting this rebound with the arrival of 477 million people between January and September 2022 (68% of the global total), reaching 81% of the pre-covid level. Tourism there is driven by strong intra-regional demand and travel from the United States. Some destinations saw notable increases in revenue, including Serbia, Romania, Turkey, Latvia, Portugal, Pakistan, Mexico, Morocco and France.
