How to customize and reorder categories in the Photos app [iPhone e iPad]

The native app Photos (Photos) brought a controversial novelty with the iOS/iPadOS 18: A complete redesign of your interface, with a unified view and customizable layout.

This way, you can only keep the categories you want, such as “Recents”, “People and Pets” and “Travel”, for example. Check out how to do this in the following paragraphs! 😉

Open the Photos app and swipe to the bottom of the screen. Then choose “Personalize and Reorder” and mark only the collections you want to keep.

To reorder them, keep your finger pressed on the three little lines next to each category and position it where you want.

In total, Apple offers the following categories:

  • Recent Days
  • People and Pets
  • Pinned Collections
  • Memories
  • Trips
  • Featured Photos
  • Media Types
  • More Items
  • Albums
  • Shared Albums
  • Background Image Suggestions

When you are satisfied, tap the “X” (in the top right corner) to exit edit mode. Later, you can reset the Photos app by going to “Personalize & Reorder” again and tapping “Reset” (in the top left corner).
