What does Community Day bring in April? The big highlight of the event is the new Pokémon Velursi from the seventh generation of the game, which celebrates its debut on this day. You can catch it in the wild and with a bit of luck you can even get it as a Shiny.
In addition, there will once more be special research that you can buy for 1 euro. There are also some bonuses, including:
- Triple XP on catch
- Double chance of XL Velursi Candy for catching Velursi
- Lure Modules last for three hours
- Smoke lasts for three hours
- Each exchange during the event costs 50% less Stardust
- During the event you can perform an additional special exchange
- Exclusive stickers when spinning PokéStops and opening presents
- If Trainers catch enough Pokémon lured by a single Lure Module, the amount of experience points awarded for catching Pokémon near that PokéStop increases from triple to quadruple for 30 minutes.
When does the event take place? April Community Day begins on Saturday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. and will remain active for three hours. The event ends at 5:00 p.m.
Niantic is changing the duration of the event back to the time before Corona. At that time, the event only lasted three hours, but was extended to 6 hours due to the Corona measures. According to Niantic, only a few players should have participated in the event for more than three hours, which is why there is this adjustment.
Velursi appears as a special Pokémon at the event
What is this Pokemon? Velursi is a small, four-legged, Generation 7 Pokémon. It has Normal and Fighting types and will learn an exclusive move during Community Day if you evolve it up to two hours following the event’s event. You need 400 candies to develop.
As a Kosturso, it then learns the Charged Attack Drain Slash. Niantic writes:

What else does the event offer? In addition to the bonuses and special research, you will also be able to buy an event box once in the shop. This costs 850 PokéCoins and contains 15 Ultra Balls, 15 Pinap Berries, 1 Top Instant TM, and 1 Remote Raid Pass.
