He Bishop of Apatzingán, Monsignor Cristóbal Ascencio Garcíaassured that the presidential election of June 2 was interference of organized crimebesides it was a “state election” full of irregularities, which is why he warned regarding the “imminent arrival of communism” to Mexico.
During his homily on the Sunday, June 30Ascencio García said “it is becoming increasingly clear that It was a state choicewith as many irregularities as had never been seen before.”
He pointed out that if there were a rule of law in Mexico, “That election should have been immediately annulled.”

The bishop spoke of vote buying, “above all in the places where there is most misery. Here in Apatzingán, I realized that each vote costs a thousand or 1,500.”

He said that at a meeting in Morelia, Michoacán, with bishops they pointed out that in the southeastern Mexico Votes were bought by 5 thousand pesos and questioned where that money came from.
