This was announced by the deputy of the AN and member of this permanent commission, Carola Chávez, at the beginning of this day.
“Today we are going to set up work commissions for the review and reform of the Law on the Exercise of Journalism. That is the strong point of today’s work,” Chavez stressed, adding that this legal regulation dates back to when newspapers were made with typography and closed the edition at midnight.
The deputy explained that the exercise of journalism has evolved, and that in these “changing times, laws must be reviewed, and journalism, being such a fundamental exercise for society, also had to be reviewed.”
He asserted that proposals will come out of these work commissions to go towards a law that is beneficial for Venezuelan society. “We have to include all the media, not just the newspaper, radio and television,” she said in an interview with the press.
