Communications announces the return of Willy Coito to the first team bench
As of Friday, April 19, Uruguayan Willy Coito will once once more take over as Communications coach, the club announced in a statement.

Through a statement published on its social networks, Comunicaciones FC announced that as of Friday, April 19, the Argentine Iván Franco Sopegno will leave the position of technical director of the institution and his place will be occupied by the Uruguayan Willy Coito.
This decision by the Board of Directors of the albo team comes one day following Comunicaciones signed a goalless draw once morest Municipal in the 328th edition of the national classic.
“Communications FC informs that the Club’s Administrative Council has made the decision that starting Friday, April 19, Technical Director Willy Coito will take charge of the technical direction of the first team“, reads the first paragraphs of the statement.
Communications did not explain the reason for removing Sopegno from the position of coach with just one day left until the end of the qualifying phase of the 2024 Clausura Tournament, but he did report that the Argentine will continue within his institution.
“We thank the Technical Director Iván Sopegno for his effort and commitment to the institution who will continue to be part of Communications FC in the basic forces“, reported the team.
Iván Franco Sopegno, who lived his sixth stage at the head of Communications, was appointed as coach of the white entity only in December 2023 to fill the void that Willy Coito left following winning the Apertura 2023.
In the current season the Communications numbers were not the best with Sopegno as its technical director. In the 15 games that he has played in the Clausura 2024, the Argentine added 6 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses.
The white club is in fifth place with 23 points, but has not won since March 13, which is why it has accumulated five consecutive games without knowing a victory.
Willy Coito’s first game in this new stage with Communications it will be next April 21 when Deportivo Achuapa is measured on matchday 16 of Clausura 2024.
