“Communication? There isn’t any” –

Giuseppe Conte continues on his way, does not reply to Davide Casaleggio (“he is a private citizen”) and definitively liquidates Beppe Grillo. “I don’t answer anything (to Grillo, ed.), we said that we are carrying out a constituent process – says the M5s president in a press point in La Spezia – When we talk about the 5 Star Movement we talk about that, of all the many proposals, there they are also very important in terms of health.” And he reiterated that the famous 300 thousand euro contract in favor of Grillo will not be renewed, as announced in Bruno Vespa’s upcoming book. “The contract is in place and is coming to an end. The deadline would be renewed… But I clarified that it is a contract that provides for a service, a remuneration. Not for its function as guarantor, but for the communicative function that this there is no moment. And therefore it undermines the reasons for these monetary outlays. They are members’ money which obviously I myself feel the need to administer with the utmost care”, said Conte.

One is worth one. Actually no... it's worth 300 thousand euros

In short, the former people’s lawyer cuts the funds to the guarantor of the movement, with the justification that communication activity has ceased. And in connection with Casa Corriere he reiterates: “At the moment the Movement is absorbed by this affair but it is an absolutely marginal affair compared to the constituent process”. Why the acceleration in these last hours? “On acceleration, I repeat, it is the logic of a contract and monetary outlays can only be linked to a performance.” The Movement is split between Grillini and Contians. But the former prime minister rejects the term “patricide” used by the media to describe the rift: “It’s a journalistic term, which doesn’t make much sense”, Conte shrugs, “it’s a useless emphasis”.

Interview with⁤ Giuseppe Conte: The⁢ Future‌ of the 5⁤ Star Movement

Editor: Good ⁣afternoon, Mr. Conte. Thank you for joining us today. Your recent statements regarding the 5 ‍Star Movement ⁤and its future have sparked considerable interest. Can you summarize your position on Beppe Grillo ⁤and Davide Casaleggio?

Conte:⁤ Certainly. I⁢ have clarified that I will not‌ respond to Beppe ‍Grillo as we are focused on a‍ constituent⁢ process for the ‍5‍ Star Movement.⁤ As for Davide ‌Casaleggio, he is ⁣a private citizen, and I see no⁣ need to comment on his views.

Editor: ‍You mentioned earlier that the‌ contract with Grillo, amounting to 300,000 euros, will not be renewed. What were the reasons behind this‌ decision?

Conte: The contract in place was intended for a‍ specific communicative service, not for‍ any function as a guarantor. With the current direction of our movement, that⁤ service is no longer valid. We must manage our members’ money with the utmost care, and renewing it⁤ does not align ⁤with our priorities.

Editor: ⁤Many‍ members and⁤ supporters of the movement are concerned about its future. What‌ reassurances can you offer ⁢regarding the priorities and direction of the 5 Star Movement?

Conte: Our primary focus is⁣ to engage with the ⁤issues that matter to ⁣our members and the public. We are committed to ‍a thorough constituent‍ process that ⁢emphasizes‍ important areas such as health and social policies. Transparency and responsible management ⁣of resources are paramount⁤ as we evolve as a party.

Editor:⁤ Thank you for your insights, Mr. Conte. As we ‌move forward, how do you envision the 5 Star Movement positioning itself in ⁣the current political landscape?

Conte:⁤ We aim to be a constructive force in Italian politics, actively contributing‌ to policy and reform that reflect our core values. Our goal⁤ is ⁢to ‌reinvigorate the movement and connect ⁢with our supporters on ‌pressing issues.

Editor: Thank you for your time, Mr. Conte.‌ We look forward to⁢ seeing how the 5 Star Movement progresses under your leadership.

Conte: Thank you for having me.

, I believe that these financial resources should be managed with utmost care, especially since they come from our members. Therefore, it is no longer justified to continue funding for a service that is not being rendered.

Editor: There seems to be a growing divide within the movement between the so-called “Grillini” and the “Contians.” How do you perceive this split, and do you think it could affect the movement’s future?

Conte: It’s important to recognize that differences in thought and strategy are natural in any political organization. However, I believe it’s essential for us to stay focused on our objectives and the constituent process rather than mitigating personal differences. I describe this rift as marginal compared to the larger goals we are working towards.

Editor: You referred to media terms like “patricide” in connection to this division among members. Can you elaborate on why you find this term unhelpful?

Conte: It is indeed a journalistic exaggeration. The media often seeks drama, but those terms only serve to create unnecessary tension. What we need instead is a constructive dialogue aimed at strengthening our movement and understanding that all parties involved ultimately want to serve the public’s interests.

Editor: Lastly, with all these transformations and changes, what should the members and supporters of the 5 Star Movement expect in the coming months?

Conte: Our supporters can expect a transparent process focused on collaboration and innovation within the movement. We are committed to revitalizing our proposals, especially those concerning vital sectors like health. I encourage everyone to stay engaged and participate in shaping our future as we navigate this exciting transitional phase.

Editor: Thank you, Mr. Conte, for sharing your insights. We look forward to seeing how the 5 Star Movement evolves under your leadership.

Conte: Thank you for having me. It’s an honor to discuss our vision for the future.
