Kolkata: India started the AFC Asia Cup qualifiers with a win. India defeated a weakened Cambodia by two wickets. Captain Sunil Chhetri netted for India in the 14th (60th minute), 60 minutes.

India had plenty of chances in the first half and second half but managed to score only two shots. Cambodia, ranked 171st in the FIFA rankings, is coached by former Japanese superstar Kaizuke Honda.

With the win, India is at the top of Group D. Hong Kong, who won the first match, are in second place. India’s next match is once morest Afghanistan on the 11th.
