Committee to monitor Hajj services and rates | Committee to monitor Hajj services and rates

Kuwait City: The Monitoring Committee has been appointed to prevent excessive charges for Hajj pilgrimage. The order was issued by Fareed Asad Al Imadi, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf. The committee will work in collaboration with the Consumer Protection Division of the Ministry of Commerce.

The move is aimed at monitoring the rates charged by Hajj groups and the services provided and preventing irregularities. It is estimated that pilgrims from Kuwait will spend between 3,000 and 4,000 dinars this year.

This is 40 per cent more than in previous years. The lower the quota and the higher the cost of travel and accommodation, the higher the total cost.
