Commerce sector with more than 500 labor infractions in 2023 in Zaire – Jornal OPaís

Five hundred and 47 labor infractions, out of the thousand and 581 registered in 2023, in the province of Zaire, are linked to the commerce sector, representing a reduction compared to the year 2022, which registered 752 transgressions in this area, according to the General Labor Inspectorate ( IGT), in the locality

According to the head of IGT, António Nsediolanda Júnior, the reduction in these transgressions in the commercial sector is due to the increase in legal culture in labor matters on the part of workers, as a result of campaigns to publicize the General Labor Law (LGT) carried out in the region. In addition to the commercial sector, 481 labor infractions were also recorded in the service provision sector, 186 in civil construction and 144 transgressions in industry, which resulted from 257 inspections carried out by IGT in the period under analysis.

In general, in 2023, 1,581 infractions were recorded, compared to the 2,333 irregularities recorded in 2022. Speaking to the press, IGT technician, António Júnior, said that the respective infractions covered 1,772 workers in the private business sector. He stated that the irregularities recorded are related to failures in the terms of contracts, poor hygiene and safety conditions at work, lack of registration of workers with the National Social Security Institute (INSS) and non-compliance with working hours.
