The School of Medicine and Health Sciences (EMCS) of the Tecnológico de Monterrey commemorated its 45 years of commitment to the training of health professionals, highlighting the presence of Querétaro as one of the five headquarters in the country of this institution.
Since its founding in 1978 as a school, EMCS has evolved and expanded its reach, currently having five headquarters strategically located in Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Chihuahua and Querétaro.
Guillermo Torre, rector of TecSalud and vice president of Research at Tec de Monterrey, highlighted the innovative essence of the institution, emphasizing the commitment to become the leading health school in research in Mexico and Latin America.
Manuel Pérez, dean of the EMCS in the Monterrey and North region, considered this anniversary as recognition of those who have contributed to positioning the school at a national and international level.
The dean of the School, Luis Herrera Montalvo, outlined the vision of making greater use of technology and collaborating with the Tec de Monterrey Institutes to enhance research and student training.
He pointed out that, looking to the future, the EMCS seeks to consolidate valuable, applicable and impactful translational research, as well as advance academic programs and the multicenter model in different regions of the country.

The celebration of this anniversary included various events that reflected on the past, present and future of the institution, highlighting the keynote leadership conference by Carlos M. Mery and discussion panels under the focus of “We inspire the present, transform the future and honor our legacy.”
