Luo Yijun, deputy head of the medical response team of the command center, said at the press conference this followingnoon that there were 267 new confirmed cases of Omicron subtype variants in China, including 124 local cases (111 cases of BA.5, 1 case of BA.4, 12 cases of BA. BA.2) and 143 cases of immigration (109 cases of BA.5, 8 cases of BA.4, 12 cases of BA.2.75, 14 cases of BA.2).

Luo Yijun said that the current domestic cases and imported cases are dominated by the BA.5 strain, which is consistent with the international trend.
The data shows that so far this year, Omicron subtype variants have been detected in China. The confirmed cases imported from abroad include 1111 cases of BA.5, 100 cases of BA.4, 44 cases of BA.2.75, and 1020 cases of BA.2; A total of 743 cases of BA.5, 5 cases of BA.4, and 2513 cases of BA.2 were confirmed locally, and there were no confirmed cases of BA.2.75 locally.
In addition, the mutant strain BA.5.1.7 detected for the first time in mainland China appeared in Shaoguan, Guangdong. The Shaoguan Municipal Government pointed out that BA.5.1.7 is a highly contagious mutant strain with extremely fast transmission, which brings a severe test to epidemic prevention. . Luo Yijun mentioned in particular that the variant BA.5.1.7 has not been detected in Taiwan so far.
