[TV리포트=김현서 기자] Comedian Lee Soo-ji’s beautiful stories are in the spotlight.
Recently, attention was drawn once more online to Lee Su-ji’s visit to the hospital for a brain tumor patient. In this regard, attention is focused on Lee Soo-ji’s beautiful story.
Netizen A, who introduced himself as the father of a child in 2020, posted on Suzy Lee’s social networking service, “My son, who had surgery for a brain tumor, really likes Suzy and imitates her catchphrase. I just posted on social media once and immediately sent a video message of support. “When he came running to the hospital with fellow comedians and a bunch of gifts, I didn’t know if it was a dream or if he was alive,” he said, expressing his gratitude.
Mr. A, who said that his son loves Suji Lee so much that he was thinking regarding whether he should make a wish to an organization that grants wishes to children with cancer, said, “I wonder if it was thanks to Suzy that my son, who had no idea regarding his future due to a disease called HTRT, a rare type of brain tumor, has been able to survive since then. “There has been no recurrence and I am enduring it in good health.”
Mr. A, who said he was sorry for not being able to greet her properly, said, “My wife, I, and my son love Suzy so much that we even wrote down her number as ‘Angel Suzy.’ But these days, my son’s favorite programs don’t show up often, so he misses me a lot. “I was so happy that Suzy appeared while watching the last drama,” he said, adding, “I hope my son will appear in various fields that he can see in the future.”
Mr. A said he would never forget Suji Lee’s warm heart until he died, and added, “With a grateful heart, I will continue to support my family hard.”
This is not the only story regarding Lee Soo-ji. In 2019, he announced the adoption of Albino, an abandoned dog that appeared on SBS’ Animal Farm. The white dog was found in a public restroom, and a letter written by its owner, an old man in his 90s who was suffering from cancer, was found next to him. The letter said, ‘This puppy is now 5 years old. ‘I am almost 90 years old, but he has cancer and will not live long, so I am trying to find the owner while he is still alive.’
Suji Lee, who said, “My first puppy was a Pekingese,” revealed the reason for adoption, saying, “I thought it would be nice to welcome (an albino) into my family and have him in my warm arms.”
Meanwhile, Lee Soo-ji, who debuted as a comedian for KBS’ 27th open recruitment in 2012, is currently running the YouTube channel ‘Necalcomani’. He is active in drama parodies and fake documentaries featuring Jenny, an American MZ Korean, as the main character. He is also a professor in the Department of Entertainment Management at Shinansan University.
In 2018, Suji Lee married a younger non-celebrity and they have children.
