ARTJOG 2024 is back and will last for 65 days on 28 June–1 September 2024 at the Jogja National Museum (JNM), Yogyakarta. The theme taken at Artjog 2024 is Motif: Prediction. This year, Artjog also presents a new program to welcome the annual art exhibition by presenting Road to Artjog, a pre-exhibition program.

This art event will present a solo exhibition by artist Zulfian Amrullah entitled Kinesthetic Performance which will feature various chair installation works at Salihara, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. The exhibition will take place April 20–30, 2024.

“Road to Artjog is aimed at picking up the ball, we want to greet more people. In our opinion, there are still many who don’t know or want to be involved but are not close to Artjog. We want to leave the cage, go to Jakarta. So it’s closer,” said Artjog CEO Heri Pemad at the Road to Artjog 2024 press conference in Salihara, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Saturday (20/4).

Artist Zulfian Amrullah tries to tamper with the shape of a chair attached to the human body. Through the creative process that has been carried out for the last 10 years with the object of chairs, Zulfikar wants to present another form of chair that resembles a human without a face.

“So there are events or scenes that I create from these chairs. For example, people accuse each other, people make love, or jump. Since chairs don’t have faces, I removed the expression. So the expression is from the shape of the chair. The imagination side there is limited movement but there is the ability of the chair body which I tinker with. “Trying to reflect what humans usually do,” added Zulfian.

Heri Pemad added that the Road to Artjog event in the coming year will likely visit other cities. For 17 years, Artjog has consistently existed because of need.

“Artjog is an event art, it can accommodate anyone’s ideas,” added Heri. (M-3)
