According to reports, Italian police said on the 23rd that they had identified the man who carved the names of himself and his girlfriend on the Colosseum.

Police did not release specific identities, but Ansa News Agency said the couple live in the UK.

Meanwhile, the British daily Daily Mail reported that the man who graffitied at the Colosseum was Ivan Dimitrov, a 26-year-old fitness instructor living in England.

The Daily Mail quoted a police source as saying, “Dimitrov arrived in Italy with his older girlfriend on the 21st and left on the 26th. The man is from Bulgaria and the woman is British.”
